Heat 3

World Champion #1/84 Tom Harris makes light work of charging through the field, and takes a commanding lead.. With around 5 laps to go, a puff of smoke is seen from under the Harris car, which then ignites, bursting into flames.. With the lap boards out, Harris looked to be trying to make the last 2 laps, and clinch victory.. However, the red flag was shown, forcing Harris to retire to the infield.. 107 Lee Robinson, 2 Paul Harrison and 22 Will Yarrow, all in contention for the win, were then to have a 2 lap sprint race to complete the race distance. Former World Champion #2 Paul Harrison seized his opportunity with a perfectly timed and executed last bender on the unlucky Robinson.

Final

With a packed grid, it really was to be anyone’s race.. 55 Craig Finnikin was to take the honours, cruising to victory in his armchair, once again showing his skill on the loose.. Further back, 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr appeared to be under attack from all quarters, including a return to the F1 shaleways, #318 Rob Speak, #16 Matt Newson and #150 Mick Sworder.. #4 Dan Johnson was to debut a brand new self-built shale shifter, and only a fool would bet against Dan notching up a race win very soon.. Sworder was as usual, lively and attacking anyone within range of the front bumper, as only he knows how.

Grand National

55 Craig Finnikin leads the field round, faced with the lap handicap following his Final win.. A full grid ensured there was plenty of action right through the field, as the star men fought there way through to the front.. It was to be #515 Frankie Wainman Jnr who was to hit the front, and seal a second victory of night on the Brandon shaleway.. Finnikin, from the lap handicap finished a highly creditable 4th in the flying armchair.
