Despite this little mishap earlier in the day, Ryan Harrison recorded a Heat and Final double to extend his lead at the top of the National Points Shoot Out.

Round 8 of the National Points Shoot Out was badly affected by rain, and the current in-form man on tarmac, Ryan Harrison, romped away with a heat and final double, with a performance best summed up by this quote from Stoxnet:-

Ryan was simply in a different class. In the final he went from back of the shoot-out gang to the front in two laps, with just a couple of well timed hits, and never looked back. No one really got a bumper on him – either everyone’s scared to, or they just can’t get near him, which is more likely!

The other races on the day went to Robert Broome, after Sean Blakemore fell foul of post-race scrutineering in Heat 1, with Ivan Pritchard taking Heat 2, and Neil Scriven the GN.

Colin Casserley kindly provided these photos from the meeting.

After big damage at Birmingham the night before, a tremendous effort from the 217 team got the car back out for Northampton.
