Tom Harris wins the Venray World Cup

Sunday August 12th saw the running of the 2012 Venray World Cup (also know in the UK as the Gold Cup). The event can be seen to be the Dutch equivalent of BriSCA’s World Championship.

Having placed 3rd in the time trials (for visiting drivers from outside the Dutch F1 league), Tom Harris was seeded into a 6th row start on the grid. Tom proved yet again how impeccable his Tarmac driving has been over the last 2 years with a master-class drive to take the title.

In a strange twist, the remaining podium steps were also filled out with British drivers, as 2nd and 3rd spots went to Gary Castell and Lee Robinson, ex-BriSCA drivers who now regularly race in the Dutch F1 league for their dutch teams/sponsors.

And to round things off, Frankie Wainman Jnr was the best of the rest, coming home in 4th, making the first four drivers across the finish all British.
