The build up to the Team Champs continued with the New Zealand Superstock 248 Global Challenge at the prestigious Palmerston North venue on the 21st January. BriSCA F1 stockcar World Champion Paul Harrison (1GB) and fellow BriSCA F1 stockcar driver Mick Harris (8GB) took part.

Three fifteen lap heats decided the winner with previous UK visitor Malcolm Ngatai (19C) taking the first heat, overall winner Shane Penn (7P) taking the second with Graeme Barr (32P) winning the last heat. Barr then went on to win the run off with Peter Bengston (58P) to secure the final podium place behind Penn and Ngatai.

After his 240s fourth place, Paul Harrison came to grief early on with fellow overseas visitor Ricky Logan (10USA). Fellow Brit Mick Harris got in some valuable practice for the Team Champs where he will be competing alongside Tom Harris 84, Frankie Wainman jnr 515, Danny Wainman 212, Matt Newson 16 and Mark Taylor on February 4th and 5th.
