Paul Harrison takes the BriSCA F1 2011 World Championship Victory

In one of the most action packed BriSCA World Championship Finals seen for a decade, Paul Harrison (son of F1 Stock Car legend Willie Harrison), has followed in his fathers footsteps to take the most prestigious title in the sport. This is the second major title for Paul in 2011, having already secured the British Championship earlier in the year.

Runner up Dan Johnson did everything necessary to ensure victory for himself by dispatching of race leader Frankie Wainman Jnr in the dying laps of the 25 lap race, only for Paul Harrison to sneak by.

3rd place went to the ever present defending champion Andy Smith, who had fought valiantly from his 9th place grid slot.

Hot pre-race favourite Tom Harris got caught up early on in the race and was forced to drop back, while consolation finalist Mat Newson came from the back of the pack to finish a very creditable 7th.

Dutch driver, Louw Wobbes took the trophy for highest finishing overseas driver.

Final top 10 positions:
1st – Paul Harrison (2)
2nd – Dan Johnson (4)
3rd – Andy Smith (391)
4th – Paul Hines (259)
5th – Stuart Smith Jnr (390)
6th – Tom Harris (84)
7th – Matt Newson (16)
8th – Mark Gilbank (21)
9th – Louw Wobbes (H22)
10th – Will Yarrow (22)
