Help Dave Willis get Back on Track (updated)

Updated: 3rd April – Prize list updated

Unfortunately Dave Willis (#337), had his racing transporter stolen from outside his workshop overnight on Sunday 29th March 2009. With the first Coventry meeting less than a week away the transporter was loaded with the majority of Dave’s racing equipment including crash helmets, HANS device, transponder, aerofoil, tyres, generator, porta power, timing gun and countless spares – the list is endless.

Raffle tickets are being sold to raise funds to try and replace some of this essential equipment and get Dave back out on track.

Prizes, very kindly donated so far, include

  • 2 weekend passes for the Golden Helmet double header weekend at Coventry in October
  • a Full Set of EdCreations Miniature Toy Stockcars
  • Colin Casserley’s ‘Stock Car Racing 2008 Season’ book
  • Colin Casserley’s ‘The Racing Wainmans’ book
  • a Richard Griffiths Stock Car DVD
  • a framed A4 photograph of a driver of your choice
  • a CD containing over 700 photos of F1’s & F2’s
  • a 2009 Scotland polo shirt (size of your choice)
  • various Alcoholic prizes, inc: a bottle of Malt Whisky & a Case of Bud
  • various Childrens Toys
  • a Cuddly Toy

together with a few other items yet to be confirmed!

Tickets will go on sale at Coventry on 4th April and be sold at every meeting between then and the May Coventry meeting, when the winning tickets will be drawn.

Tickets will be on sale at the EdCreations (Toy Stockcars) Stall and will also be sold around the terraces etc by Dave’s partner, Kay Blackburn, and sister, Lisa Willis – the girls will be making themselves known. Please feel free to buy a ticket or just contribute whatever you can – as a well known supermarket says ‘Every little helps’ and there has never been a truer word spoken.

Any assistance or help offered, no matter how great or small, would be greatly appreciated. And a huge thanks goes to those that have already helped out so far.
