British Lions podium success in New Zealand
The British Lions, the GB entry into New Zealands fast, furious and tactical sport of Team Superstocks Racing, have beaten all expectations by grabing podium success with a very respectable 3rd position overall in the coveted Enzed Team Superstocks Championship.
The triumph is all the more remarkable because Team racing is not a discipline practised in the UK, so for all the drivers it was a case of being thrown into the deep end and learning on the job.
The team consisted of Frankie Wainman Jnr, Stuart Smith Jnr, Tom Harris, and Mark Taylor, with Mick Harris as the reserve driver.
The achievement marks the end to a remarkable year of success for British drivers in New Zealand, where Frankie Wainman Jnr made history by taking the New Zealand World Championship title for a record third time.
