Wijk & Aalburg – September 17th Meeting overview

The EZHACO organisation recently held a meeting with many formula including three F1 stock car heats and a final. Jan Sparreboom H85 won the first heat of the day, Pieter van de Iest H226 the second with Jan van de Iest H26 taking the third. Jan Heijsteeg H57 taking the 2011 Brabant Championship.

An explosive start to the meeting when James Morris (463) impacted the home straight fence after a couple of laps of Heat 1, before slewing across the track and being hit by Mark Gilbank (21), who then collided with Scott Davids (462) before the pair of them came to a dead stop in the turn one fence.

Coventry pre-meeting problems for Murray Harrison 97 meant a starter motor needed to be replaced with the gearbox having to come out for access, and on doing so, swung round and snapped the throttle cable meaning it was all hands on deck to get the car ready for action.
