Emmen – September 24th 2011 Meeting Overview

Emmen recently held the Golden Helmet meeting with lone BriSCA shale stock car driver Geoff Nickolls UK215 making the journey to Holland to race. Nine heats preceded the Final with Geoff winning three heats before coming fifth in the Golden Helmet Final. The other heats were won by John van’t Veer H16, Jouke Stapert H353, Jelle Hiemstra H173, Gert Jan Klok H152, Sjaak Kentie H179 and Evert Jacob Klok H488. The Golden Helmet was won by Jessy de Bruyn H399 from second placed Louw Wobbes H22 followed by Martijn Oudhuis H477 in third place.

Coventry pre-meeting problems for Murray Harrison 97 meant a starter motor needed to be replaced with the gearbox having to come out for access, and on doing so, swung round and snapped the throttle cable meaning it was all hands on deck to get the car ready for action.
