Blauwhuis – August 7th 2011 Meeting Overview

The 7th August meeting at Blauwhuis was the last World Final Qualifier for the F1 stock cars and the final was for the Frisian Championship. The rain from the last few weeks did not spoil the track and there were 38 F1´s in attendance. The heat wins went to H79 Lourenz de Vries, H226 Pieter van der Iest, H43 Haye Dijkstra, H228 Jan Roelof Wijbenga, H26 Jan van der Iest, H76 Wierd Gietema. The final became a race of waved yellows situations, with five restarts in total. H22 Louw Wobbes kept the lead after all restarts until Pieter van der Iest took the lead with two to go. however with one to go he went too wide with the finish line in sight and ended his race in the ditch leaving the win for Louw Wobbes, who was followed by H151 Marco Falkena and H74 Bate Feenstra.
