Ryan Harrison Q&A

Ryan on the grid before the Semi-Final race.

Hot on the heels of winning the European Championship and the first of the World Championship Semi-Finals, Ryan Harrison took part in a question and answer session with some fans. Here are some of the highlights.

Your dad won the European in 1999 and went on to win the World the same year, How would it feel to emulate him?

Great! It would be good.

The donuts you did afterwards were pretty spectacular!

Thanks, I practise them at home, ha ha!

Was there a problem with the car after the Euro?

We’re saving the tarmac car for my dad to race in the Buxton Semi

You got a great start in the semi-final and were in the lead on the first lap. Was that your plan?

It was just ‘game on’! And then cruise.

You had Paul on your back bumper a few times in the semi, do you think he could have got you?

If he wanted to, then the times when I was held up, he could have done.

What did you think when Frankie backed out of the fence in front of you?

I had a few choice words at the time! But he didn’t do it on purpose.

How come you didn’t race in the rest of the semi-final meeting?

I broke an axle link and we didn’t have a spare to repair it. We had three on the bench at home though!

The World Final – do you have any plans on how you’re going to race it?

Yes, win it!

Would you prefer inside or outside?

Outside

Are you bothered about who starts on the front row next to you?

Nope. Somebody has to.

Do you think the front row of a World Final is a good place to be?

Yes, I like riding around the fence!

What do you think is going to happen in the World Final?

I’m gonna smash the plating at some point!

The World Final and your Dad is in front of you – are you going to dispose of him, Ryan-style?

My dad says he thinks he’ll be going home for an early bath.

Thanks to the guys and gals of Talkin Stox for the questions. Visit them on Face Book for the full Q&A with Ryan.
