The May Speedweekend at Skegness is the first chance for F1 Drivers to land a title in the racing season, and Saturday night’s session was not only a ideal opportunity for car set up to be perfected for the UK Open Championship meeting the following day – but also to claim some valuable qualifying points towards the World Championship which is being held at the East Coast tarmac strip in September.

Nearly thirty cars turned out for the second part of the Incarace WCQR double header including a car not present at Birmingham the night before, Adam Slater 214.

An inclement weather forecast did not deter spectators from the ever popular Birmingham Wheels circuit for the World Championship Qualifying Round.

As the 2012 season approaches, F1Stockcars.com shares a flashback photo extra from the October 23rd 2011 Shootout round at Northampton. An explosive start to the final saw a big collision ensue involving the Shootout competitors, and top BriSCA F1 stock car photographer Paul Tully was on hand to capture the action.

It was a tough decision to leave the Umbrella in the car on arrival at Skegness as dark clouds hovered, but the risk was worth taking and sure enough was rewarded with an action packed afternoon’s entertainment.
