At the close of the 2011 racing season, multi-champion winning and fans favourite Andrew Smith, announced his retirement from the sport after what has been a prolific racing career.

Belle Vue – October 16th 2011 Meeting Report
The meeting at Belle Vue on Sunday 16th October 2011 turned out to be one of great historical significance, for after blitzing the opposition to win the final in flambouyant fashion, Andy Smith climbed out of his car and announced that that was the last time he would be seen racing a stock car.

Sixty cars made the journey to Coventry for the August meeting. Forecasts of bad weather were on the cards but proved to be false with only a short shower occuring early on.

The first Saturday of the month always means the stock car hordes descend on the Brandon shaleway for a good night’s entertainment with a full field of cars. Unfortunately the weather played a hand and after three cracking heats, the rain came.
