2009 Under 25′s Championship – Race Report

Coventry hosted this years Under Twenty-Five Championship. Twenty young BriSCA F1 Stockcar drivers formed the grid for this highly regarded and rewarded Championship Title.

BriSCA F1 Stock Car drivers under 25 years of age have a golden opportunity to showcase their potential and talent at Coventry Stadium on Saturday 5 September, host track for the Under 25s 2009 Championship race.

A new month, a new Coventry meeting…

This month Coventry Stadium plays host to the now annual Under 25′s Championship, where the younger drivers get a chance to go head to head in their own race.At the same meeting, another celebration will be taking place. The Ray Tyldesley Memorial meeting takes on a special significance, as it will be 20 years almost to the day that the popular 85 car driver won the prestigious BriSCA F1 World Final at Brandon in 1989.

An explosive start to the meeting when James Morris (463) impacted the home straight fence after a couple of laps of Heat 1, before slewing across the track and being hit by Mark Gilbank (21), who then collided with Scott Davids (462) before the pair of them came to a dead stop in the turn one fence.

Coventry pre-meeting problems for Murray Harrison 97 meant a starter motor needed to be replaced with the gearbox having to come out for access, and on doing so, swung round and snapped the throttle cable meaning it was all hands on deck to get the car ready for action.
