Moving over the country to the North East, Aycliffe Stadium became an outpost of BriSCA in 1966. However it had run many years before that as an independent track and had already built up a good driver and fan base.

Staying in the Northwest this week we have a look of some of the stalwarts of the scene.

Pete Fenton’s replica of Doug Cronshaw’s Potent Mix car caused a lot of interest last week at the Autosport International, so this week focuses on Cronshaw, and two of his most famous creations.

The sad news reaches us of the passing of Bev Greenhalf. Bev has been associated with Northampton Stadium from the mid 1960s as a commentator and general manager. The first Flashback Friday pays tribute to Bev with some images from his beloved Northampton Stadium.

Every February Florida has a host of winter racing, and over a two week period you can watch NASCAR, Sprint Cars (Both Wing and Non-Wing), Late Models, Big-Block Modifieds, Dirt-Mods, Drag Races and probably a School Bus Figure of 8 if you so wish.
In short no shortage of V8 powered oval racing.
