Winter Strip Down: Rob Harrad #258 – Part 4

Rob’s winter strip down and rebuild continues and this week it is the beginning of putting it all back together again. Follow from Part 1 HERE.

The batteries ran out on the camera so the construction of the side rails just magically appear, or it could be the work of the stock car builder fairies while I popped the kettle on?

Back at Jones Tanker Services, a little bit of final fettling before repaint can start

Yours truly donned in all the gear and ready to start spraying, exciting times as I've never done this before !!

Son in law James White steps in to save the day.

Lifted off stands with our fork lift. It is a good job we have the fork lift, not as good as someone's telehandler though, but it does the job

All that is needed now is a bit of filler work on the body, rub down and repaint. For those who may be wondering why the cab wasnt blasted? That was because it took the young Mr Adam Perkins about 2 weeks to filler it last time !!! and I couldn’t put him through that again.

Coventry pre-meeting problems for Murray Harrison 97 meant a starter motor needed to be replaced with the gearbox having to come out for access, and on doing so, swung round and snapped the throttle cable meaning it was all hands on deck to get the car ready for action.
