Winter Strip Down: Rob Harrad #258 – Part 3

Rob’s winter strip down and rebuild continues… follow from Part 1 HERE.

This week work is done on two fronts with the car being at Jones Tankers Service in Honeybourne while the engine and gear box are at team HQ. When and how will they meet up once again, maybe next week, just maybe…

New front suspension arms ready to be welded.

Engine being power washed

Engine all clean.

Gearbox and starter clean.

Even Gearbox and starter need Tea !

Team enjoy opening wages on pay-day otherwise known as drinking tea.

Lundy still drinking tea whilst draining oil out well that was his excuse !!!

Old axle mounting ground off and part off the new one ready to go on

New front axle beam may be? This has to go before the BSCDA committee before I can use it, so watch this space.

Coventry pre-meeting problems for Murray Harrison 97 meant a starter motor needed to be replaced with the gearbox having to come out for access, and on doing so, swung round and snapped the throttle cable meaning it was all hands on deck to get the car ready for action.
