Flashback Friday: The 2006 Season

The 2015 Season is nearly here; Belle Vue’s season opener is only a couple of weeks away. To keep you entertained while you are waiting for Belle Vue, Flashback Friday takes a look back at photos from the 2006 season.


For the 2006 World final the promoters brought in a big screen to the track where the North meets the South, in the Midlands. Dave Willis (337), Gary Lenton (264) and Kevin Shinn (121) try to look in the mirror at themselves on the jumbotron!


Frankie Wainman Jr (1) failed to make it through to the World Final in his semi. As defending champion he started from the rear of the field where he sliced through the pack to finish second.


Andy Smith (391) on his way to his second world title, a race he would win three more times before his retirement from the sport.

Evert van den Berg (H12) travelled over from Holland to Cowdenbeath. He ended up side down in the final.


Dave Barry (59) found out the “Kitty Litter” at Knockhill can’t stock a BriSCA F1


Barry Stephen (365) won two races at Knockhill. He is the last Scottish domiciled driver to win in his home country.


Dave Willis (337) leads the pack at Sheffield.


Tim Warwick (307) sideways at Sheffield. It’s a track that lends itself to foot to the floor, sideway racing


Mike Kingston (188) finds out the Sheffield fence takes no prisoners.
